New York Press Releases

(NewYork.CityRegions.Com, September 16, 2012 ) New York, NY – M83, a French electronic music band from the Antibes, will have two shows in New York City on October. The shows will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom on the 2nd and 3rd of October.
The two NYC shows come as great news for New York audiences, but as bad news for those expecting to see the band in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Albuquerque. M83 originally had announced shows in all three locations, but in April, the band announced that all three shows are cancelled ‘due to circumstances beyond (their) control’.
The band apologized to all their fans in the said cities and said that they ‘hope to be able to visit these cities later in the years’. For further announcements on M83 tickets, visit ACheapSeat.com.
Meanwhile, tickets for the two NYC shows are now on sale and are expected to sell out fast. M83 shows at Terminal 5 in May and Summerstage in August were both sold out.
The band, founded by Anthony Gonzales and Nicolas Fromageau in 2001, is one of the most notable singing groups in its genre. Their songs feature a mix of Synthpop, shoegaze, dream pop, and indietronica. Aside from the two founding members, they also include Yann Gonzalez, vocalist and keyboardist Morgan Kirby, and drummer Loic Maurin.
M83 has been active since 2001, and has released 6 albums. Their debut album is a self-titled release that failed to attract much attention outside of Europe. In 2005, however, Mute Records reissued the album and released it worldwide. Hence began M83’s global success.
Their most recent album is Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, which the band released last October 18, 2011.
Their most popular single is Midnight City, which was part of their 2011 release. The song made it to number 8 on the French singles chart, number 5 on the US Alternative singles chart, and number 7 on the US Rock singles chart. It was also used by BBC in its trailers for the London 2012 Olympics coverage.
Other well-known singles include Run into Flowers (2003), Don’t Save Us from the Flames (2005), and Teen Angst (2005).
Another song, Outro, has been featured in popular American TV shows such as Gossip Girl and Once Upon A Time, while the song Another Wave From You was used in the penultimate episode of the hit spy series Chuck.
All Hammerstein Ballroom tickets for the October 2 and 3 M83 shows are now on sale at ACheapSeat.com.
